Product review:

About the Motor

The Spirit XT175 treadmill comes with a 2.5 HP continuous duty motor.  The motor is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Treadmill Belt

The treadmill belt at 20" x 50" for the Spirit XT175 is on the small size when compared to other treadmills in its price bracket.

Workout Programs and Features

The Spirit XT175  is comes with six preset workout programs plus two custom programs.  The treadmill also includes other features such as Heart Rate Control, a built-in book rack and two cooling fans.  The XT175 also includes the Soft-Drop easy assist feature to help safely lower the treadmill deck to the floor.

Warranty

The Spirit XT175 comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and the motor.  The warranty also includes 5-years for parts, 4-years for the deck and 1-year for labor

Conclusion

The Spirit XT175 is the entry treadmill in the Spirit lineup.  The treadmill comes with some nice features but really is mainly designed for walking or moderate use.  The XT175 is more of a "budget" treadmill with a higher sticker price.  One of the main issues that we have with this treadmill is the small deck size.  The XT175 treadmill's belt length is 5 to 10 inches smaller when compared to some of the top treadmills in the $1,200 price range.

The ProForm Perspective ES and the Smooth 6.45 Folding Treadmill are both competitively priced with the Spirit XT175.  They both come with a 20" x 60" running deck and would be a better buy over this machine.  This isn't a bad machine and it does come with some nice features and a very good warranty, it just falls short when compared to other treadmills around the same price.
