Product review: About the Motor
The Sole S73 treadmill
comes with a powerful 3.0 HP continuous duty motor. The motor is backed with a lifetime
warranty. About the Frame The Sole S73 is a heavy treadmill weighing in at an impressive 250 pounds. The non-folding treadmills are typically more stable than the folding ones and this treadmill will support a maximum user weight up to 350 pounds. Warranty Information The S73
treadmill comes with a lifetime warranty on the motor and frame and
treadmill deck. There is a 5-year warranty on the electronics, belts
and rollers. The S73 treadmill also includes a 2-year in-home service warranty. Conclusion The Sole S73 is very similar to the Sole F83 Treadmill with the key differences between the two being that the S73 is a non-folding treadmill. Another difference between the two models is that the running deck on the S73 is also a couple inches longer. Overall the S73 is a solid machine, it comes with a long treadmill belt, good size motors and a powerful motor. If you look at our review for the F83 you see that we only gave it three out of five starts. Where the Sole F83 fell short was that it was one of those mid-priced treadmills that fell in between two great models (the F80 and the F85). The F83 didn't really offer enough to justify the extra $200 price increase over the F80. Also the F83 is only a couple hundred dollars cheaper than the F85 making the F85 a more attractive buy. The reason why we point this out is because the Sole S73 has a similar problem. For a couple hundred dollars more you can pickup the Sole S77 treadmill which comes with a much larger motor at 3.5 HP and supports more user weight. However, all that being said the Sole S73 is still a great buy if $1700 is at the top of your budget and you are looking for the additional stability in a non-folding treadmill. If you can spend a little more the S77 is our recommendation but the S73 still will not disappoint those that are looking to save a couple hundred bucks.
