Smooth Fitness is able to offer a discount on their elliptical trainers because they are sold directly from the manufacture.  As with their treadmill line, selling directly from the manufacture allows Smooth Fitness to pass on a 45% savings to their customers.  What you end up is with a higher quality elliptical that has more features and is sold at the mid-price range.

The entry level Smooth Fitness elliptical starts a little under $1300.  Overall their elliptical machines come with a longer stride length than what is found on many of the other brands.  The smallest stride length available starts at 18 inches with the longest one at an impressive 24 inches.  For those that have no idea what a stride length is, it is the farthest distance from the pedals.  The stride length is important for not only accommodating taller users but also allows you to use a longer stride during your workout.  The ability for you to increase your stride length will allow you to put more emphasis on your quadriceps while you use the exerciser.

The warranty for the Smooth elliptical trainers vary from model to model but the lifetime warranty on the frame and the braking system seem to be a common feature for most of the newer elliptical trainers.  The parts and labor warranties change from model to model but overall the warranty is pretty good compared to some of the other brands in the same price range.
