Conclusion
If there is one thing that the Smooth CE 7.4 has in common with its siblings it is that it also includes quite a few great features.  The 16 levels of resistance, 8 preset workout programs and the pivoting foot pedal are just some of the features that are offered with this machine.  However the greatest feature of all is probably the quality and we have come across a number of reviews that compliment this elliptical on its smoothness and stability while in use.

If there is one contributing factor to the stability of this elliptical it is probably that the CE 7.4 is the biggest and heaviest elliptical trainer in the CE lineup.  The size and weight are one of the factors that help to add to the overall stability and durability of the machine.  The CE 7.4 also includes a heavy duty flywheel which helps to produces a more stable and smoother ride.  Keep in mind that with dimensions of 83" L x 27" W x 67" H those limited on space may need to settle for a smaller machine.  However, if you have the room the CE 7.4 presents the opportunity to pickup a great "light-commercial use" elliptical for a very reasonable price.

The CE 7.4 is not a perfect elliptical and one potential issue with this machine is the 21 inch stride length.  Ironically if the stride length is listed as an issue it usually indicates that it is not long enough to accommodate taller users.  The Smooth CE 7.4 has the opposite problem in which the stride length may be too long to accommodate all users.  If you are around 6 feet in height the 21 inch stride length will work great, however those around 5 feet in height may find that the stride is a little too long.  A variable stride length would have been better in this case but the 21 inch stride length is the only option available.

Overall the Smooth CE 7.4 is a great elliptical trainer that starts to rival some of the commercial grade ellipticals out there.  Most of the reviews that we have come across for this machine give it high praises for both its stability and smoothness while being used. The heavy duty flywheel and steel frame make the CE 7.4 a great option for those looking for a dependable and well constructed machine.
