The Smooth CE 2.1 elliptical trainer comes with a stride length of 18 inches.  The 18 inch stride length best suits those of average height (around 5'8" and under).  Taller users will be better off with an elliptical trainer that has a stride length that is around 20 inches and above. 

About the 9 Preset Programs
The Smooth CE 2.1 includes 9 built-in preset workout programs which include heart rate control, a random program, fat burning program, interval and endurance program, watts program and several target programs (time, distance and calories).

Warranty Information
Smooth Fitness offers some of the best warranties available for their exercise equipment and the CE 2.1 comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and braking system, 2 years warranty on parts and electronics and a 2 year warranty for in home labor.

Conclusion
The Smooth CE 2.1 is an excellent elliptical trainer and it is built with the same frame and breaking system and flywheel as the Smooth CE 3.2.  The main differences between the CE 2.1 and CE 3.2 elliptical trainers is that the CE 3.2 comes with better console, some additional features and a better warranty.  The CE 3.2 is typically more expensive than the 2.1 model which makes the 2.1 trainer an attractive buy.  However, we have seen both trainers priced equally at times and in this instances you are better off purchasing the CE 3.2 elliptical machine.

Smooth Fitness has a reputation for building well crafted and durable machines for a reasonable price.  Because Smooth Fitness sells from the factory directly to you they are able to reduce the cost on their products and pass the savings on to you.  One example of the quality components that makes up the Smooth CE 2.1 is the large flywheel.  The large flywheel creates a smoother and quieter workout compared to some of the other elliptical brands in the same price class.  Another great component is the heavy and well constructed frame which increases both the stability and durability of the workout machine.

In conclusion the Smooth CE 2.1 elliptical is an excellent machine for the price. However since it is built with some of the same parts as the Smooth CE .3.2 you would be better off purchasing the Smooth CE 3.2 if there is a sale where the two elliptical trainers are equally priced (which happens from time to time).  Otherwise the Smooth CE 2.1 is a good choice for an elliptical trainer.
