The Slendertone Flex is an abdominal belt that  firms and tones the abdominal muscles through the use of EMS (Electronic Muscle Stimulation).  Electronic muscle stimulation contracts the muscles using an electrical impulse delivered from the belt through gel pads that are attached to the midsection.  Unlike competing brands, the Slendertone Flex abdominal belt is scientifically designed to work out the entire abdominal region and not just the muscles that are under the pads. The Slendertone belt is also the first of its kind to be cleared by the FDA.  The belt comes with four different workouts and ranges in levels of intensity from 1 to 99.

The overall reviews for the Slendertone Flex abdominal belt are pretty mixed.  The product claims to strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles for anyone that does not have time for the gym.  While quite a few reviewers absolutely loved this equipment, there were a good number of reviewers that felt that the belt was not worth the investment. Over and over again many reviewers have stated that the Slendertone Flex is good for strengthening the abdominal muscles.  If you are looking for an additional tool to help strengthen up your midsection then the Slendertone Flex may be the right product for you.  However, those looking for a quick and easy way to melt the fat away will be disappointed.  The Flex belt is not a shortcut for weight loss and will not burn away belly fat without the addition of a good exercise and diet program .

Ideally the belt best suits those that already have a flat midsection and are looking for an extra kick to strengthen and tone their abdominal muscles.  However the Flex belt does come at a hefty cost and the money spent would be best be placed towards a gym membership or overall body workout equipment.  For those that already have a gym membership or an adequate home gym system then the Slendertone Flex belt may be a nice addition to help firm and strengthen up the abdominal muscles.  But keep in mind that the results are not instant and it could take several weeks to a few months for the belt pay off.

The initial cost for the Slendertone Flex belt ranges in the neighborhood of around $99 to $149 with additional future expenses for replacing the gel pads.  The replacement gel pads tend to wear out quickly and will add on as an ongoing expense. The manufacture recommends that you replace your pads after 20 to 30 sessions at a cost of around $15.99 for each set.
