Brief Description

If you are into boxing and looking for a good exercise program to supplement your current workout with then you may want to take a look at Slam Man.  Slam Man is a futuristic punching bag that is shaped like the torso of a man.  The Fitness Quest Slam Man incorporates and teaches boxing techniques as you punch out a pattern of lights during the workout.

How it works

Slam Man comes with 15 different programs that range from beginner, intermediate to advanced.  Each program uses actual boxing techniques that help you improve on both speed and power from the workouts.  Slam Man, in concept, is similar to some of the memory games you may have played as a kid.  During your workout, the punching bag will light up where it wants you to hit it.  The goal is to hit the bag before the next spot is lit up.

The punching bag includes eight different target lights that help you improve your accuracy and an adjustable sensor that lets you know how hard you are hitting your target.  One nice feature for this product is that you can adjust the difficulty as your skills improve.  There are 15 different programs in the Slam Man's computer including beginner, intermediate, and an advanced program. You can choose which one is best for you and graduate from level to level as you feel yourself improving. Each program was developed by a professional boxer and is based on actual boxing techniques

Our recommendations

Most of the reviews for Slam Man are very positive.  The majority of the reviewers felt that this product not only gives a great workout and teaches but also improves boxing techniques in the process.  The biggest compliant that we have seen surrounding this products is its size and that it is a little bit noisy.  Punching bags take up some space too so we really don't see it's size as being a real issue.  It really just comes down to what type of workout you are looking for.  If you want something that will either teach you how to box or improve on your existing boxing techniques then this is a product you should consider.  However if you just looking for something cheat to knock around then you may be better off purchasing a punching bag instead.  Overall we do recommend this product since it produces a neat concept that has been well received by most reviewers.
