Frank Sepe Fitness Disk Review

Product description

The Fitness Disk is created by bodybuilder, fitness model and personal trainer Frank Sepe.  Frank's Fitness Disk offers a low impact workout that basically mimics a natural twisting motion.  By design the disk itself is just a little over 5 inches high with about a 20-1/2 inch diameter.  The disk is also durable and will support a maximum user weight up to 300 pounds. It is small, light and compact enough to be used just about anywhere throughout the home.  The size and shape of the disk also makes storage an easy task.

About the Stabilizing Bar and Padded Cover
Included with the exerciser is a stabilizing bar which can be used for both introductory to advanced exercises.  One of the more basic functions of the fitness bar is that you use it as a stabilizer during your workouts.  The bar is inserted into the center of the fitness disk to give you something to hold onto while you twist back and forth during the exercise.  However the fitness bar is detachable and once you become more comfortable with using the fitness disk you can hold the bar in your hand to increase the difficulty of your workout.  You can also separate the fitness bar into two separate batons for additional resistance.  The stabilizing bar may only weigh around four pounds, with each half weighing only 2 pounds, but even at the light weight it still helps to improve the effectiveness and difficulty of the individual exercise.

Also included with Frank Sepe's Fitness Disk is a padded cover.  The cover serves as a cushioned seat that can be used for your abdominal exercises.  When not in use, the cover fits over the fitness disk for easy storage.

Frank Sepe Fitness Disk Reviews
The reviews for Frank Sepe's fitness disk basically fall into the love it or hate it category.  While the majority of the reviews out there seem to be very positive, there are a few reviews with some solid points on why the customer did not like the exerciser (covered a little later).  However, even the majority of the customer reviews on HSN's website are very positive with the exerciser receiving around four out of a possible five stars.  Some of the positive comments talk about how the exerciser really gives the muscles a good workout.  The difficulty of the fitness disk really comes down to you.  Those willing to push themselves should find that they are breaking out into a sweat in no time at all. The exerciser works out muscles over the entire body with the core muscles being the ones hit the most.  With a sensible diet and solid workout plan there is no reason why you shouldn't expect progress using this exerciser.

There are also quite a few comments about the construction of the fitness disk.  Overall the disk is considered to be well constructed; it will need to be to be able to support a maximum weight of 300 pounds.  However there are some complaints that the disk is a little noisy during use.  The infomercial for the product specifically comments on the quietness of the disk so the complaints could have been from a faulty set.  In either case there were several customers that did make comments that the exerciser was a little noisy.

Also, several customers on HSN's site have complained that the movement from the exercise hurts their knees.  Across the board this does not seem to be the case but if you are already having issues with your knees then you will want to keep this in mind.  As with any piece of exercise equipment you should consult with your doctor prior to use.  Those with chronic knee or even back pain may find that this is not the right product for them.

Keep in mind that depending on your balance and fitness level the exerciser may take some getting used to.  Even though the exercise does come with a stabilizer bar to help with the balancing, some of the customer reviews that we have seen complained that the movement was still awkward. Most exercises in the beginning are awkward so don't expect that you will be an expert on this one overnight.  Some may be able to jump onto this exerciser and take off with no issues at all, while others will need some time and patience before they really become comfortable with the movement.

Overall the Fitness Disk does look like a good piece of exercise equipment.  It performs over 100 exercises, is small and lightweight, and with a small learning curve should be easy enough for most people to use.  I could see overtime how the exercises could become a little mundane and would not recommend using the Fitness Disk as my sole workout equipment.   However, incorporating the Fitness Disk into an existing routine should breathe new life into your existing workout plan.  The exerciser is relatively inexpensive and has received a good number of positive customer reviews.
