Most people are familiar with the Schwinn brand due to their reputation with their bicycles.  Schwinn has been making bicycles since the late 1800's and over the last century has become an American icon in the bicycle market.  In the early 2000's Schwinn was purchased by Nautilus who also owns the Bowflex, StairMaster and Nautilus workout equipment brands.  Nautilus has a strong reputation in the home exercise equipment market making some of the most popular home gyms and treadmills available today.

Schwinn Fitness in recent years has branched out into other markets including their popular elliptical trainer line.  They have developed a reputation for producing budget ellipticals at a reasonable price.  With their most expensive elliptical just shy of the $1,000 price tag, Schwinn has produced a line of ellipticals that most people will be able to afford.

Keep in mind that the Schwinn ellipticals are not going to be as sturdy and come with all the bells and whistles as the brands used in most commercial gyms.  These are budget ellipticals targeted at those that can afford to spend $600 to $1,000 on an elliptical trainer.  They are a good investment for the money and in recent past have received recognition as producing one of the "best buy" ellipticals for the price.
