Conclusion
The reviews for the Schwinn 430 elliptical trainer a very positive and it happens to be one of the more popular budget ellipticals around. Although it does not have a lot of bells and whistles what the 430 does offer is good quality for such an inexpensive machine.  There are quite a few customer reviews complimenting on how sturdy the Schwinn 430 is.  Other reviewers have also commented on how smooth the pedals move.  These are commonly features seen in more expensive models and really give a good example on why some many customers love this machine.

However the Schwinn 430 is not a perfect elliptical trainer and if there is on possible issue it is most likely due to the stride length.  The 18" stride length if fine for those around 5'8" in height and under but it may alienate taller users.  If you are over six foot tall you will be better off with a stride length that is 20" and above. If you are around 5'8" and under you should be fine with the stride length included in this trainer.  Another minor complaint is for some of the customers the arms tend to squeak after awhile.  Usually the fix for most of those issues was either loosening a bolt that was too tight or adding some lubricant to the area where it squeaked.  The best bet is to contact the manufacture for their recommendation if this is an issue for you.

Overall the Schwinn 430 appears to be an excellent machine for a budget elliptical trainer.  Although it does not have a lot of bells and whistles the smooth ride and sturdy frame make it one elliptical worth considering.
