Are the ProForm elliptical machines any good?

ProForm is owned by Icon Health and Fitness who happens to be the world's largest retailer of fitness products.  If the name sounds familiar it is most likely because Icon also owns the popular NordicTrack, Epic, Weslo, Reebok and Image brands.  ProForm has been making exercise equipment for a long time now and over the years has built a good reputation for the products that they produce.

As with their treadmill line, ProForm also produces a wide variety of ellipticals that fall under the budget pricing umbrella.  Like their treadmills, the ProForm ellipticals have a reputation for delivering a very good product at a reasonable price.  They offer affordable machines loaded with features that are usually seen on more expensive models.  Some of the standout features offered are things such as space saver designs which allows you to fold up the elliptical trainer, built-in fans, iPod and MP3 player compatibility and much more.  Keep in mind that ProForm has plenty of elliptical trainers to choose from and not all features are included with every machine.

The reviews for most of the ProForm elliptical models are pretty good from those reviewers that understand what they are purchasing.  As already stated these are budget ellipticals and should not be compared to the quality of the machines found in many commercial gyms.  They do offer a lot of great features for the price but in all reality the stability and durability is not going to be comparable to the more expensive high-end brands. 

The warranty for the ProForm elliptical trainers varies between the different models offered.  Some of the ellipticals include lifetime warranties on the frame with decent warranties on the parts and labor.  These are budget ellipticals so the warranty for the most part is not going to compete well with the more expensive brands.  However a lifetime warranty on the frame and 1 year warranty for parts and labor is a good warranty for an elliptical under the $1,000 price range.
