ProForm 680 Treadmill Review Product
description:
The ProForm 680 Trainer is a very good treadmill for the under $1000 price range. ProForm makes some of the best budget treadmills available and the 680 Trainer lives up to the reputation. The treadmill includes some nice features with the Bright-Orange LED display, built-in Intermix Acoustics 2.0 and iPod compatible ports to allow you to jam to your favorite music as you workout.

Additional features Product review: About the Motor The ProForm 680 treadmill comes with a 2.8 HP drive
motor. The 2.8 HP is a peak performance rating and should not be
confused with the continuous duty ratings seen on some of the more expensive
treadmills. The motor is backed with a 20-year
warranty. Cushioning and Treadmill Belt The ProForm 680 Trainer's cushioning helps to reduce the impact on the
joints that would be felt if you were to walk or run on the road. The
treadmill's belt is also a good width and length allowing plenty of room for even the
taller users. About the Built-in Sound System
For those that are looking for a built-in audio system with their
treadmill, the 680 Trainer comes with an iPod port and the Intermix
Acoustics 2.0 sound system. The sound system has been rated as
decent and it is a nice feature for those that do not like to wear
headphones while they work out. However the built-in sound system is
a personal preference for some and anyone that is comfortable listening to
their iPod (or MP3 player of choice) with just the headphones is not going
to see much benefit. Warranty Information The ProForm 680 Trainer
treadmill comes with a 20-year
warranty on the motor and a 1-year warranty for all parts and
labor. Conclusion The reviews for the ProForm 680 Trainer treadmill are pretty good. This is a "budget" treadmill so you have to compare it accordingly. Ideally this treadmill is best suited for those that plan to use it for walking. Anyone that is a heavy runner will need to begin their search for a treadmill that is in the $1500 on up price range. The ProForm 680 includes some nice features for its price bracket. The console is attractive and the orange lights on the display stand out make the console easy to read. The built-in audio is nice too but in reality will only benefit those that prefer not to wear a headset. It really just comes down to what features you are looking for. The ProForm Crosswalk 570 treadmill is similar in features with the motor, treadmill belt and weight limit being about the same. It doesn't include a built-in audio system but does come with the Crosswalk arms which help burn 50% more calories when used. There is less than $100 price difference between the two treadmills also so it just depends on what features you are looking for. The motor's warranty on the Crosswalk is better by 5-years however the parts and labor warranty on the 680 Trainer far surpass what the Crosswalk is offering. As previously stated ProForm makes some of the best budget treadmills available. The ProForm 680 Trainer treadmill is reasonably priced and does offer some nice features that are worth considering. Those that plan to use the treadmill for walking will not be disappointed with that the 680 trainer has to offer.
