Product review:

About the resistance
The EFX 5.31 includes 20 different resistance levels.  The different levels of resistance help to build muscle strength and stamina over the workout.

About the stride length
The EFX 5.31 elliptical trainer comes with a variable stride length that ranges from 21 to 23 inches.  The stride length will accommodate taller users but may be too longer for those less than average height.

About the CrossRamp
The Precor Crosstrainer ramp (CrossRamp) is adjustable ranging from 15 to 30 degrees.  The different adjustments help to isolate and put more emphasis on the calves, glutes, hamstrings and quadriceps muscles.

About the handrails
The ergonomic handrails, although stationary, are designed to accommodate by shorter and taller users in their unique design.  Not only do the handrails support users of various height but they also allow for different grip adjustments and positioning during the workout.

About the 10 Preset Programs
The Precor EFX 5.31  comes with 10 built-in preset workout programs which includes two Heart Rate Controls, Cross Training, Aerobic, Gluteals, Hill Climb, Interval, Manual and two Weight Loss.

Warranty Information
The 5.31 includes a 10-year warranty on parts; 1 year on labor and a lifetime warranty on the frame.

Conclusion
The EFX 5.31 elliptical trainer is a bigger and heavier elliptical trainer than the less expensive EFX 5.25 model.  The biggest difference between the 5.25 and 5.31 models is that the 5.31 comes with a longer stride length, up to 30 degrees adjustable CrossRamp, 20 verse 16 resistance levels and 10 verse 8 built-in workout programs.  However, one of the advantages that the smaller EFX 5.25 has over the 5.31 model is the moving handlebars.  The 5.25 elliptical is also around $600 less so it really depends on whether or not the additional features are worth giving up the moving handlebars.

One thing to keep in mind about the 5.31 elliptical is that the stride length is a little long for shorter users.  A 21 to 23 inch stride length will accommodate those that are over six feet tall but shorter users may find the stride length is too long to meet their needs.  The 5.25 model includes a 18.5 to 20 inch stride length so those around 5'8" and under may want to give it a closer look.
