Before we begin, it is important to point out that the P90X program is not for everybody. The program is geared towards those that are sincerely committed to getting in great shape. The workouts are very challenging and require at least an hour of your time to complete.
Also it is important to note that there are additional cost for the program outside the cost of the nutritional plan and DVD’s. Anyone that is serious about the workout program will need to invest in the following equipment.

P90X fitness guide
The first step in beginning the P90X workout program is taking the fitness test (included with the program). The goal of the fitness test is to help you to assess where your current fitness levels are and whether or not they are adequate for the program. You will also be asked to take the fitness test at the end of program so that you can track your physical improvements over the 90-day period. Keep in mind that the fitness test takes around 40 minutes to complete so you will need to schedule in the appropriate amount of time to receive the most accurate results.
The fitness test includes a series of
exercises including pull-ups, bicep curls and jumping jacks. In addition
to the exercise you will also be required to take a few measurements to
see where you are when you begin.
About the P90X workout

The P90X workout plan is designed to
transform your body into a lean physique. For those looking to pack on a
great deal of muscle this program really is not for you. You will build
lean muscle with the workouts but nothing in the likes of a serious
bodybuilder. The calories in the nutritional program are too low for
serious muscle building to occur. Even if you adjust your calories
accordingly the resistance program is not enough to build a physique to
rival the likes or Arnold Schwarzenegger and some of the other
bodybuilding elite. However that being said, those looking to build a very
lean, muscular and toned physique will not be disappointed.
P90X nutritional plan
The nutrition plan for P90X comes in three
phases. The first phase is the "fat shredder". Phase one focuses on a high
protein diet that is geared for both strengthening the muscles and burning
away unwanted body fat. The second phase if the nutritional program
increases carbohydrates to help improve the energy levels. The final phase
ads even more carbohydrates to the diet to help support endurance during
the final phase of the training program.
P90X final review
P90X is the successor to the once popular Beachbody Power 90 workout program. There is a lot more punch to the second generation workouts and P90X is not designed for the faint of heart. It is a challenging workout program that is constructed for those that are already in decent shape and want to take their physiques to the next level.
P90X stands for "Power 90 Extreme" and bringing your workouts to the extreme is an understatement. Compared to similar products in its class the P90X workout system is a breath of fresh air.
