The NordicTrack FreeMotion s5.6 uses the
1-Touch frictionless resistance for 12 levels of resistance that can be
changed by the touch of a button. The different levels of resistance
help to build muscle strength and stamina over the
workout.

Stride Length
The NordicTrack FreeMotion s5.6 elliptical
trainer comes with a maximum 35" stride length. This is one of
the longest stride lengths available and will accommodate both shorter and
taller users.

The NordicTrack
FreeMotion s5.6 elliptical trainer comes with the 8 Body-Zone and 8 Preset
Stride workouts. The 8 Body-Zone workouts automatically adjust the

Conclusion
The NordicTrack FreeMotion s5.6 elliptical trainer is a unique machine in
that it offers a longer stride length then any other elliptical out there.
In some aspects it is more of a hybrid machine combining the benefits of
an elliptical trainer and a stair stepper. The longer stride length
increases both the intensity and difficulty of the workout benefiting the
quadriceps, hamstring and glutes. Although the impressive 35 inch
stride length is the highlight feature on this machine there are also
other features that are a standout as well. The wireless heart rate
monitor, iPod and MP3 player port and the upper-body workout arms are just
some of the extra tools that make this a feature rich machine.
On the downside the FreeMotion
s5.6 is an expensive machine that comes with a marginal warranty at best.
The 35 inch stride length is unique with this product (outside the
FreeMotion s5.8) and contributes to a great workout. However anyone
wanting to purchase this elliptical will also want to look into an
extended warranty.
