Conclusion
NordicTrack has packed in a lot of great features in this under $1000 elliptical trainer and it is no surprise as to why this is one of the more popular elliptical trainers that they have to offer.  The most similar elliptical trainer to the AudioStrider 990 is the 800 model offered for a couple hundred dollars less.  However the NordicTrack AudioStrider 990 is a much better buy than its smaller sibling.  Where the 800 model offers a manual incline feature for three different levels the 990 offers a power incline that gives you five different levels to choose from.  There is also a big difference in the built-in workouts that come with the two machines.  The 800 model includes a respectable eight built-in workouts however the 990 model has an impressive 20.  The power incline feature and additional workouts alone more than make up the $200 price difference between the two machines. 

The AudioStrider still is a budget elliptical trainer and as such it is made with less expensive parts.  Budget elliptical machines are not designed for heavy use and they will not be as sturdy or quiet as the higher priced mid to high-end machines.  The warranty on this elliptical trainer is also average at best and an extended warranty would be recommended.  There are a few complaints regarding durability issues but in all reality you would need to spend around $1500 on up for the quality that comes with a mid-level machine. 

Overall this is a very good budget elliptical trainer and is worth considering for anyone in the market for a feature rich inexpensive machine.  It is a good machine for just about anyone and the stride length ranging from 18" to 22" accommodates both average height and taller users.
