About the Stride Length
The Nordic Track ASR 1000 elliptical trainer comes with an 18" stride length. The stride length will accommodate that are average height and under users but may be too short for taller users.  Anyone over 6 feet in height will need to look at a longer stride length that starts around 20" and up.

About the Workout Programs
The Nordic Track ASR 1000 elliptical trainer comes with the 20 personal trainer workouts that include 2 workouts for weight loss.  The built-in workouts automatically adjust the resistance levels of the elliptical trainers.

About the iFIT Workout Card
Each iFit workout card is designed by a personal trainer to automatically adjust your workout settings giving you the most out of your workout.  The iFit card plugs directly into the console and automatically adjust the elliptical settings to enhance the workout. 

About the iPod universal Dock
For those that prefer to workout without a headset the iPod dock allows you to plug-in your iPod or MP3 player and play your music through the elliptical trainer's built-in speakers.

About the Interactive Video Games 
The ASR 1000 includes four interactive video games that help to enhance your workout.  The videos help to improve your workouts with a design that encourages you to workout that much harder.  Basically the harder you workout the easier the game becomes.  The four games that are included with the elliptical trainer are Calorie Destroyer, Fat Blocker, Black Jack and Texas Hold 'Em.

Warranty Information
NordicTrack offers a lifetime warranty on the frame a one year warranty for parts and in-home service on the FreeMotion s5.8 elliptical trainer.  The warranty is marignal at best and an extended warranty would be recommended. 

Conclusion
The NordicTrack  ASR 1000 is a budget elliptical trainer that is loaded with a lot of great features.  The iFit workout card technology, iPod universal dock, 20 personal workouts and the four interactive games are just some of the features that this machine has to offer.  Another shining feature for this machine is the power incline feature.  This feature is not common in a budget elliptical trainer and allows you to increase your incline up to 30 degrees giving a more intense workout.

As noted the ASR 1000 is a budget elliptical and it not right for everyone.  Budget elliptical machines are made with less expensive part and are really more suited for light to moderate use.  Anyone in need of an elliptical trainer for heavy use will need to consider the much more expensive mid to high end models.  Also, the stride length on the ASR 1000 is really only designed to accommodate those that are around 5'8" and under.  Taller users will feel alienated with this machine and should consider an elliptical trainer that has a stride length of at least 20 inches.  The warranty for this elliptical, along with the other NordicTrack elliptical trainers, is average at best so an extended warranty should be taken into consideration if you decide to invest in one of these machines.

Overall the ASR 1000 is a good elliptical that offers a lot of perks for a very reasonable price.  The power incline ramp, built in interactive video games and 20 personal trainer workouts make this a great deal for the under $1,000 price umbrella.  It is a great consideration for anyone looking for a budget machine that has a lot of great features.
