Product review:

About the Resistance
The Lifefitness X7 elliptical trainer uses the Eddy Current resistance which can be automatically adjusted depending on which workout program you select.

About the Stride Length

The  Lifefitness X7 elliptical trainer comes with a variable stride length that ranges from 18 to 24 inches.  The X7 uses the Whisper eStride which quietly and smoothly adjust the stride length.  The stride length is electronically adjusted with the push of a button.  The 18" to 24" stride length will accommodate those that are both average and above in height.  In addition to the stride length the X7 uses a closer spacing for the pedals (1.75" apart from each other) to give a more natural feel during the workout.

About the Workout Programs
The Lifefitness X7 elliptical trainer comes with 10 built-in workout programs on the Advanced console and 5 workout programs on the Basic console.  The programs on  the Advanced console include  Manual, Hill, Random, EZ Incline Resistance, Sport Training (simulates outdoor training with hills, etc), Fat Burn, Cardio, 3 Heart Rate workouts and 2 custom workouts. The basic console only includes the Manual, Hill, Random, EZ Incline Resistance, Sport Training workout programs.

Warranty Information

Lifefitness offers a lifetime warranty on the frame and Lifesprings with a 10-year warranty for the resistance system.  The warranty also includes 7-year for parts and a 1-year for labor.

Conclusion
The Lifefitness X7 is an impressive elliptical trainer that builds on the already impressive X5 model.  Like the X5 elliptical trainer the X7 also comes with a stride length that ranges from 18 to 24 inches.  However, the key difference here is that the X7 allows you electronically adjust the stride.
The size and weight of the X5 and X7 elliptical trainers are the same however the X7 is a more durable machine supporting a maximum user weight up to an impressive 400 pounds (where the X5 supports a maximum user weight of 350 pounds).

Another standout feature for the X7 over the other X models is the warranty.  The warranty is improved on the X7 elliptical adding additional years of protection on the various parts and other features.  However the adjustable stride length and warranty are not the only selling points for this elliptical trainer.  It also comes with some other great features like the LegSculptor mode, closer pedal spacing for a more natural feel, FlexPedal shock absorption, Whisper eStride verse the SelectStride technology and much more.

The reviews that we have seen for the Lifefitness X7 elliptical trainer are very positive and one of the more common praises that stands out in a lot of the reviews is the stability and smoothness of this machine.  Websites like Amazon.com and TreadmillDoctor.com have given the X7 high praises as a high quality elliptical trainer.  Keep in mind that the X7, irregardless of whether you get the basic or the advanced console, is a high-end elliptical trainer.  Unlike budget elliptical trainers, the X7 is made with high quality parts and is built for durability, stability and a smooth workout.

The Lifefitness X7 is an expensive machine with the advanced console model being priced a little over $4,000.  Those that have the funds and are willing to spend over $4,000 for an elliptical trainer will end up with a very high quality machine that will last for years to come.  The X7 is not for everyone and the only real downside for this elliptical trainer is the price.  That being said, if it is within your budget it is an exerciser that is well worth considering.
