review:
About the Resistance The Lifefitness
X3 elliptical trainer uses the Eddy
Current resistance which can be automatically adjusted depending on which
workout program you select.
About the Stride
Length The Lifefitness X3 elliptical trainer comes
with a stride length of 20 inches. The 20" stride length
will accommodate those that are around 6 feet tall in height but may
alienate shorter users.
About the Workout Programs The
Lifefitness X3 elliptical trainer comes with 10 built-in workout
programs on the Advanced console and 5 workout programs on the Basic
console. The programs on the Advanced console include
Manual, Hill, Random, EZ Incline Resistance, Sport Training
(simulates outdoor training with hills, etc), Fat Burn, Cardio, 3 Heart
Rate workouts and 2 custom workouts. The basic console only includes
the Manual, Hill, Random, EZ Incline Resistance, Sport Training workout
programs.
Warranty Information Lifefitness offers a lifetime warranty on the
frame with 3-years for parts and a 1-year warranty for
labor.
Conclusion The Lifefitness X3 elliptical trainer offers some additional
features over the X1 model for around $700 more in price. On the
surface the two elliptical trainers look very similar with both
machines including the same 10 workout programs with the advanced
console. The overall size and weight between the X1 and
the X3 elliptical trainers are also about the same.
However the X3 does have a little bit taller step-up height
than the X1 model (7 inches verse 6.5 inches) and includes comfort
foam inserts in the pedals. The warranties and most of the other
specs between the two machines are about the
same.
The
key differences between the X1 and X3 models are in the GluteToner
and ArmToner workout enhancements that are included with the X3 model
and the pulse sensors that are included in the handles. Overall both
elliptical trainers are great machines that have received very highly
rated reviews. Reviews on sites like Amazon.com, TreadmillDoctor and
other sites around the web give the X3 elliptical trainer high marks for
being both a quality and stable workout machine. Most of the
comments also compliment the elliptical trainer for being very
quiet and providing a smooth workout.
As
with the X1 the 20 inch stride length in the X3 may be an issue for those
that are shorter than average height. The stride will accommodate
most users that are around average or above. Overall like the X1 the
X3 is a great model that is worth considering.
