The Body by Jake Hip and Thigh Sculptor mimics some the well known thigh abductor commercial exercise machines.  If you are not familiar with thigh abductor workouts they focus on two main areas of the leg, the inner and the outer thigh.  The first question for any exercise machine should be whether or not the exercise being performed provides a good workout for you.  In the case of the Hip and Thigh Sculptor the question is whether or not the inner and out thigh abductor workouts provide a good workout for your thighs.  To answer this question we will take a look at the fundamentals of the workout and how it trains the legs.

The abductor exercises are started out as you sit in the bench with your knees straight in front of you.  Your thighs rest against a pad which will provide the resistance for the workout.  Now the pads placement depends on whether you are training the inner or outer thigh muscles.  If you a training the inner thigh muscles, your legs will start out spread apart and the pad will rest against the insides of your thighs.  You execute the exercise by squeezing your thighs together and the resistance will be placed on the inner thigh thus working out that area of the leg muscles.

Working out the outer thigh muscles on this machine is a little different.  You start out the exercise with your knees together and the pad resting against the outer thigh.  The execution for the outer thigh workout is the opposite of what you did for the inner thigh workout, you spread your legs apart with the resistance of the exercise being against the outer thigh and glutes.

Now if you have never done an abductor excises before they appear more innocent then they really are.  Although the movement seems simple if you start out too heavy you may find yourself so soar that walking becomes a challenge for a good week.  Hands down the inner and outer thigh abductor workout is a great exercise machine to target the inner and outer areas of the legs.

So is the Body by Jake Hip and Thigh Sculptor any good?

The Hip and Thigh Sculptor machine not only focuses on the inner and outer thighs but also provides a leg press too.  The reviews for the Body by Jake Hip and Thigh Sculptor are very positive.  The machine is easy to setup and provides a great workout for the inner and outer thighs.  However, many of the people that have reviewed this machine have stated that leg press portion of the exercise machine is really designed for shorter people.  The biggest complaint is that the leg press portion of the machine is not adjustable for people with longer legs. Fortunately, the inner and outer abductor workouts are not affected by this problem.  People at various heights are able to perform the abductor workouts without any issues.

Overall if you are looking for a good abductor workout machine this one is a good one to consider.  We do not recommend it for the leg press since it doesn't appear to be designed for everyone.  However, abductor excises on their own are great workouts to tone and develop the inner and outer thigh muscles and that is why we recommend this machine.
