Are the Bowflex treadmills any good?

Bowflex Treadmill Review

About Bowflex Treadmills

Bowflex has been making exercise equipment since 1986.  Predominately known for their multifunction home gyms, Bowflex has branched out creating other exercise equipment product lines such as the popular TreadClimber and their 7 Series treadmills.  Compared to some of the other treadmill manufactures, the Bowflex series does not consist of a large variety in their lineup of treadmills.  However they do offer a couple very good mid-range treadmills at a very reasonable price.

Bowflex as a company is a subsidiary of Nautilus Fitness.  Nautilus has been around for a long time and most people are probably already accustomed with their name.  However if the name does not sound familiar chances are pretty high that you are familiar with some of the other brands that the company manufactures.  Nautilus is one of the bigger names in the exercise equipment industry and they are also the manufactures of the Nautilus, Schwinn Fitness, StairMaster and Universal brands.

The entry level treadmill of the Bowflex line, the Series 3, comes with a smaller motor and is not ideal for those that are going to be doing a lot of running.  The Series 3 is more of an entry mid-range treadmill and best designed for people that will predominately use it for walking.  However the other two in the lineup, the Series 5 and Series 7 treadmills, improve over the Series 3 model with a much larger motor.  If you only plan to use a treadmill for walking or light jogging then the Series 3 treadmill should be fine.  The reviews for all the treadmill models are very positive but keep in mind that a heavy runner will need to invest in a more durable and powerful machine.

The Looks

Aesthetically Bowflex has created a very good looking machine.  The treadmill lines are clean and very pleasing to the eye.  But good looks is not the only thing their treadmills are packing, they are heavy machines that built with a durable frame.

Features

The Bowflex treadmill line comes with a variety features found on many of the nicer treadmill models.  One of the nicest features included with all of their treadmills is the longer running surface.  This will best suit those that are a little taller or plan to use the treadmill for running.  Their treadmills also include some of the more commonly found features such as heart rate control, a variety of workout programs, LED computer display and a large incline range.

Warranty

The warranty for the Bowflex treadmills is pretty good but not as great as some of the other brands in their price range.  The Bowflex treadmills come with a 15 year warranty on the frame, a 10 year warranty on the motor, 2 year warranty on parts and the electronics and labor fall under a 1 year warranty.

The table below list reviews for the Bowflex treadmills that are currently available (individual reviews coming soon). MSRP reflects prices at the time of the review.  Prices may change over time.
