Are "As Seen on TV" Exercise Machines Any Good?

There are a variety of As Seen on TV products available to the public and the big question on most of our minds is whether or not they are any good.  The short answer to the question is yes, there are some great products out there to help you achieve your goals.  However, the exercise equipment is only half the equation to a great body, you also need a good diet program if you want to achieve optimal results.  The reason why we point this out is because there are some infomercials out there that imply all you need to do is use their product to achieve a great body like the models in the commercial.  The truth of the matter is that their product may be great, but great results will only come with a combination of a disciplined diet and workout program.

Unfortunately there are also products out there that are falsely advertised and do not deliver the results that they promise.  There are con artist and scammers in every industry and the fitness industry is no exception.  One rule of thumb that we like to use is if a product sounds too good to be true then it probably is.  If an infomercial appears to be making outrageous claims then you owe it to yourself to research their product further before spending any of your hard earned cash.  Also make sure that whatever you buy comes with a money back warranty in case the product does not deliver as promised.  There may be a restocking fee with some returns so make sure your purchase is worth the risk before you commit.

The good news as we stated earlier is that there are some really good exercise machine advertised in the "As Seen on TV" arena.  Whether you are looking at isolating your abdominal muscles with the Ab Chair or looking for an intense workout with the Tony Little Gazelle, the key is to make sure that your investment is worth the money spent.

Before you invest in any type of As Seen on TV exercise equipment, you should first identify your basic needs.

  • Are you looking for equipment that can easily be stored away? (for example the Ablounger )
  • Is the exercise equipment worth the investment?
  • Do you need to invest in an abdominal only machine or would you be better off also investing in a multi-function machine? (for example the Hyper Extension Roman Chair)

The reviews on this site are designed to help you make informed decisions about the exercise equipment you may be considering to purchase.  You can read our individual As Seen On TV product reviews here.
