The Abtronic Ab Exerciser is yet another Ab machine that promises incredible results with no effort required by you. The Ab Tronic is in the same class of machines as the Velform Sauna belt and the Ab Energizer. These products claim to melt away fat by using a technology called EMS (Electronic Muscle Stimulator).   EMS is a technology that uses electrical currents to create muscle contractions.  The Ab belt products are suppose to work by having you wear a belt that sends electrical impulses into your abdomen which causes the muscles to rapidly contract. The contraction caused by EMS is supposed to help you build muscle, burn calories and burn fat.

Now EMS does cause the muscles to contract but there is no evidence that the muscle contractions supported by EMS help burn away fat. From personal use EMS is good for assisting with injuries but I have never received the same type of muscle pump from an EMS device as I have from working out with weights. The muscle contractions are not the same and I personally did not feel that the muscles benefited from the workout.

Even if we assume that the Ab Tronic, and its other counter parts, gave the full fledge workout as they promise it is still not enough to create lean sculpted abs. Working out the abdominal muscles is only half the equation to having great looking abs, the workout alone will help develop your abdominal muscles but you still need to burn away the fat around the midsection to see them. It takes both a good diet and cardio workout program to burn the unwanted fat away. More importantly it takes time to reduce body fat. Any product that claims incredible results with little effort on your part or in a very little amount of time is misleading you.

If you need more proof that Abtronics exercise equipment, and we use the term "exercise equipment" loosely, does not work, the FTC sued many of these manufactures in 2002 with a multimillion-dollar settlement reached in mid-2003. The FTC went after many of these product manufactures on the basis that they do not deliver what they promise.

The Abtronic is just another infomercial product with bold claims that sound too good to be true. You should grab your wallet and run in the other direction anytime you come across a product that promises amazing results with little or no effort on your part. In the real world it takes hard work and discipline to get great looking abs and in the real work the Abtronics does not work.
