At first glance the Ab Twister is a strange yet unique looking contraption. In some aspects it resembles and upside down walker with the two large hooks hovering as the handles. However it is the unique design that is the key allowing the exerciser to be able to include all of the individual exercises listed below.

The Ab Twister includes the following exercises (change up the description):
  * Ab crunches
  * Side crunches
  * Jackknife sit-ups
  * Dumbbell side bends
  * Seated barbell trunk twists
  * Leg pull-ins
  * Flat back leg tucks
  * Hanging leg pulls
  * Roman Chair exercise
  * Bent knee sit-ups

There seems to be a lot of interest around this exerciser but unfortunately there are not a lot of customer reviews. Amazon.com only has one review for this product, which happens to be negative. The reviewer makes some good points on why they did not like this product but it is unfair to pass judgment on this product based only on one customer review. The key benefits of this exerciser are that it is designed to work out the entire abdominal region. One of the other perks is that you also workout the lower back muscles helping to eliminate lower back pain. Any product that is capable of effectively working out the entire abdominal and lower back region is one worth considering. However due to the lack of customer comments it is hard to know how "effective" this machine really is.

Keep in mind that the Ab Twister, no matter how well it works out the abdominal region, is still at the end of the day an abdominal exerciser. Abdominal exercisers by themselves are not the Holy Grail for weight loss. Their marketing campaigns my pitch a different story but the actual results usually are nowhere near the advertisers promises. There are a lot of people out there rushing out and buy one abdominal exerciser after another hoping that the promises of the next purchase will come true. However the reality is that abdominal exercisers alone are not going to help anyone shed away pounds of unwanted body fat.

Abdominal exercisers are a great product because they help develop and strengthen the abdominal muscles. Working out the abdominal muscles will increase the amount of calories you burn, no one will deny that. The problem is that the abdominal muscles by themselves are too small to efficiently burn enough calories required for impressive weight loss results. The key to achieving weight loss goals is the incorporate abdominal workouts into an existing cardio and workout program. A healthy diet is also required and you really start to set yourself up for success when you combine all of these components together.

So what does all this have to do with the Ab Twister? For reasons already outlined above, anyone that believes that the Ab Twister alone is going to burn away all of their unwanted body fat is going to be disappointed. When reviewing an abdominal exerciser the real question is how well it does work out the abdominal muscles. Unfortunately at this time there is not enough information out there to recommend this product. The Ab Twister’s price has dropped dramatically since it was introduced so this either means that it really was not an effective abdominal workout tool or its marketing ads were not able to generate enough interest (unlikely).

The best prices that we have seen for this exerciser are at Amazon.com. The price sits at around $50 and which may be cheap enough for some of you to take a gamble on this machine. Those hoping to spend a little less may want to checkout eBay to see if they currently have any deals.
