The overall reviews for the Ab Rocket on Amazon.com, WalMart.com and other various websites across the web are pretty mixed.  While some reviewers raved about how they loved this exerciser there were just too many negative reviews out there to be ignored. 

One of the most common complaints regarding this exerciser is that it did not have enough resistance.  At a price that is a little over $100, many reviewers indicated that you could benefit more by not purchasing this machine and sticking with crunches.  The resistance is built for three different levels but even at the highest level a lot of the reviewers complained that there machine still did not give enough resistance for a great workout.

Another common complaint that has popped up in even some of the more positive reviews is that this exerciser seems to be best suited for people that are 5'8" or under.  This should be taken in consideration for anyone that is taller than average.  There are also several complaints regarding quality issues but most of these concerns appeared to be more about perception than reality.  Some reviewers commented how the exerciser felt flimsy but we found very little reviews that actually indicated that there were quality issues with this machine.

The marketing for Ab Rocket indicates that the exerciser will massage your back as you workout.  From what we have seen there are several reviewers out there that have commented that the massage feature is pretty poor.  This really is a minor complaint and in all reality a selling point for an abdominal machine should not be that it also massages your back.  What is really important here is whether or not it gives a good workout for the abdominal muscles.

On a positive note, one of the key features for this exerciser is that it does come with a low calorie meal plan.  The Ab Rocket as an exercise equipment will help you develop and strengthen your abdominal muscles but the exerciser alone is not going to burn away unwanted body fat.  The key to achieving a six pack is to incorporate both a diet and exercise plan that is designed to build lean muscle and burn unwanted fat.  Ab machines, and that goes for all abdominal machines, by themselves will not burn enough calories to transform anyone's body from a flabby to rock hard physique.  They will however assist in burning additional calories and will develop the abdominal muscles.  Once the belly fat is removed the chiseled abdominal muscles will show through.

Keep in mind that burning fat is a slow process that takes an investment of both time and hard work.  No one machine or workout program is going to be able to achieve fat loss with only five minutes of use a day.  It makes more sense to incorporate a machine like the Ab Rocket into an existing workout instead of just relying on the Ab Rocker as your workout tool for burning away unwanted body fat.  However that being said, at a price that is a little over $100 there are better options out there for abdominal workout machines.
